I was listening to an episode of "Work life with Adam Grant" yesterday [The science of productive conflict]. You have summed it perfectly: diversity is really the crux of the human experience.

More than self-awareness, we must hold mutual awareness in high esteem—our knowledge of each other, aka empathy. One of the things I learned in that podcast episode is how conflict [status based, task-based or more] is a subset of how different we are as individuals. If we acknowledged people more and sought to understand people's truths and differences, as you said, over time, our experiences become a strength and a reason to savour the human experience.

For me, this is what motivates me most times when forming friendships. The curiosity to know the thoughts & processes behind people's words & actions, the stories that have come to form those processes, how they have [and continue] to modify these stories and optimise their lives. This is part of why I enjoy reading your musings; they cover these and more brilliantly.
