In addition to some of the options you mentioned as a way to train our sub-conscious, I think if we can hack the CBT process for ourselves, I mean in terms of stimulating that dialogue [that would have happened with a professional] with ourselves; It can be of great help as well.
I guess that much like the meditation option tho. But it's different when you can picture it mentally, and you are writing this questions to unravel why you believe what you believe, If you should still believe them, and how you can actively change the ones that need to be changed.
